why I'm writing a book
Hi, I’m Lydia, I'm building Nomii App (a memory keepsake tool for parents) and am a late diagnosed auDHD mum. More info about nomii app here.
I care deeply about helping young people understand their minds but many resources are locked behind paywalls.

So I'm writing a free book for Fast, Noisy Brains.
This will be an online guide aimed at teens and young adults navigating ADHD for the first time.

I’m inviting people with ADHD (either diagnosed or self-identified) to share a short story or testimony of their lived experience.

A note about book contents
I don’t have a PhD, but I studied epidemiology (the science of analysing population health data), population health, and anatomy at university.

Finding reliable health information can be overwhelming and expensive for young people, so I’ve used my skills to bring helpful information together by:

-
sharing lessons from my own lived experience
-
summarising wellbeing research from journals and government sources
-
creating journal prompts based on educational and reflective workbooks I’ve used
-
translating scientific language into clear, accessible explanations

This book will combine science, simple language, journal prompts, ADHD planning tools, and real stories from people who live with ADHD every day.

It does not diagnose or treat ADHD and is not a substitute for professional advice.

How will my testimony look?

Your testimony will look a little something like this.
You can choose to share your name or stay anonymous.
Length: aim for 150 - 300 words so it fits nicely in the page.

Topic: I'd like to leave this kind of open but if that feels too ambiguous, you can pick from these prompts below or contact me and I can allocate you a specific topic:

1) What is something you currently struggle with?
2) What helps you manage?
3) What is something you wish you knew earlier?

Whether it's honest, real, messy, funny, frustrating, sad, happy or hopeful....stories help people understand their own ADHD better and maybe feel a little less alone.

By sharing your story, you could help someone feel less alone too.
What kind of story can I share?
Anyone living with ADHD can submit a story. Whether you strongly suspect you have ADHD or have a formal diagnosis does not matter.

I'm looking for:

-
All ages
-
All writing levels
-
Diagnosed or strongly suspected
-
Any location in the world

Who can submit a story?
Your privacy matters
Your privacy and safety matters.
You can submit your story anonymously.

Share only what feels safe. Your story will only be used for this book project.
You can request removal at any time.
