An interview with Lydia
"When my son was born I asked other parents how they were keeping memories organised. Almost everyone said said they had multiple apps. Most parents said they felt overwhelmed by the task. That's how I learned about the problem.
I began talking to more parents to get a really good understanding of issues faced by parents and learned memories were still too scattered. I heard so many sad stories about lost data and frustration from parents who wanted to record more written memories but had no way to keep these together with photos and videos, so it became too hard.

I realised that many precious memories are being lost so I began exploring my own ideas in a prototype and how I would design a solution.
Feedback on this was overwhelmingly positive, so I iterated, found a CTO and completed a Founders course. In 2023 we began building Nomii (as in "know me") for real.
It's a challenge, but my kids continue to motivate me and keep me focused on the end goal."

Rigid systems, traditional thinking and resistance to change are common barriers that get in the way of our potential. But by understanding the strengths and weaknessess of each individual, leaders can discover hidden talent and provide opportunities for those talents to grow.

When will the app be ready?
We're hopeful for 2026 but as this is our first app there are new challenges to overcome and we're prioritising quality. To be kept in the loop, please follow our facebook page or join the waitlist to stay updated.
Will my memories be safe?
Security is paramount for Nomii. We are building a reliable, future proof and secure product that parents (including us) feel safe using. This means:

Privacy First principles - this means no one sees your memories unless they are directly shared by you.

Strict Data protection policy - we will never share or sell your data. Full stop.

End to end data encryption - this means you are safeguarded against unauthorized access during both memory creation and storage.

A first-party data strategy: a few high quality, hand picked, unintrusive ads that will allow us to keep the app running while maintaining user privacy.

100% User owned: Users can export / erase their own data at any time of their own choosing.
Will I be able to I print photobooks?
We'd like to build this feature into Nomii later. There will be ways to export and pass on memory collections without fuss.
Here's how:
1. Legacy
We're exploring options for memory export and are working on building a bumber of options into a Legacy Access System so that parents can take their memories offline securely & have access forever.
2. A beautiful gift
Imagine passing down digital Memory Collection filled with an entire childhood. That's where Nomii's Legacy Access Sytem is headed.
4. Private & Secure
This is our priority and #1 goal: a future with no lost stories.
Will I be able to share memories with family?
Yes. Account holders will be able to invite Followers as well as invite other Users to share the account with as well as the task of building the memory collection. We hope this will reduce the burden of just one person being the memory keeper.
