An interview with Lydia
"When my firstborn arrived I asked other parents how they were keeping memories and was surprised by how many people said they had multiple apps or felt overwhelmed by the task. That's how I learned about the problem.
I got curious, started talking to more parents to get a better understanding of the memory keepsake issues people were having. It wasn't lack of space, it was having too many memories in too many different places: "memory debt".
I realised scattered memories were becoming a huge problem.
The fact that so many precious memories would be lost inside hard drives and clouds wasn't just inconvenient, to me it was unacceptable.
That's when I began building wireframes and the first prototype.
Designing something that truly solves a problem isn't simple. It requires a lot of listening and iterating.
My kids continue to motivate me. I've become a mum on a mission to put a stop to scattered memories."

What is a family memory keepsake app?
A family memory keepsake app helps parents capture, organise, and preserve meaningful moments and stories with their children. Nomii will use photos, stories, voice recordings and guided prompts to help parents do this.
When will the app be ready?
We're hopeful for 2026 but as this is our first app there are new challenges to overcome and we're learning as we go. To be kept in the loop, please join the waitlist.
Will my memories be safe?
Security is paramount for Nomii. We are building a reliable, future proof and secure product that parents (including us) feel safe using. This means:

Privacy First principles - this means no one sees your memories unless they are directly shared by you.

Strict Data protection policy - we will never share or sell your data. Full stop.

End to end data encryption - this means you are safeguarded against unauthorized access during both memory creation and storage.

A first-party data strategy: a few high quality, hand picked, unintrusive ads that will allow us to keep the app running while maintaining user privacy.

User owned: You will be able to export / erase your own data at any time of their own choosing.
Will I be able to I print photobooks?
It's possible this could be a feature offered to Nomii users later. Currently we are focusing on reducing printing and our carbon footprint.
One unique feature that will help us do this is to give children access to their memory collection. Parents will be able to do this at a time of their choosing.
We're still exploring other ways to let users revisit memories in exciting and interactive ways. More will be revealed soon.
Will I be able to share memories with family?
Yes. Account holders will be able to invite Followers as well as invite other Users to the account and share the task of building the memory collection.
Families can also be invited to contribute! We want to create a solution that reduces the burden on one person.
Is Nomii like a digital baby book?
Yes, Nomii will be very much like digital baby book that spans accross all of childhood from baby to leaving the nest, with added features like prompts, storytelling tools, growth trackers, forever messages and timelapses.
